My name is Kristina Rivas. I am a preschool teacher at Birchcrest Elementary. I attended college at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and earned my Unified Early Childhood Endorsement through the University of Nebraska at Kearney. This is my fifth year teaching. When I first started at Bellevue, I taught preschool for two years then did the earlychildhood homebase program for two years. This last year, I came back into the classroom, and am teaching preschool again. I have a daughter who is 15 months old, who keeps my husband and I very busy. We also have two dogs.
In college and student teaching I did a lot with technology. However, in preschool we don't do very much with technology so I have been kind of out of the loop in that area. I would like to get back in. Currently the only technology I use is my laptop and the desktop computers and iPad2 that are in my room for the kids.
The purpose of this blog is to get me comfortable with blogging and using more technology again. I'm hoping to use it as another tool to communicate with my parents and get them involved. I tried a website for most of the year and that didn't seem very successful I'm hoping a blog will help. Maybe it will be more informal and where they feel like they can respond more.
Welcome to the Blogging world! It is great if you dig into it! We are excited to have you in this class and hopefully getting you more comfortable with some technology things!
ReplyDeleteKristina - I also started out with BPS working for the early childhood homebased program. I then went to Kindergarten, 1st and now 5th grade. Who would have thought? :) Erin
ReplyDeleteHey, I have an early childhood endorsement too! However, other than having a daycare in my home while my kids were babies, the lowest grade I have taught is 2nd grade. I love your backdrop, your blog is looking good!
