Expectations

What you should expect from me:

I will treat all students, as I want my daughter to be treated.

I will help each student reach their full potential.

I will adapt our curriculum to meet your individual child's needs.

I will maintain communication with each family.

I will encourage you to be your child's biggest advocate.

I will help prepare your child for kindergarten and the school experience.

I will take pride in each new developmental step your child takes.


The following are list of a few classroom expectations:

Parent involvement: I expect parents to be active, involved learners in their child's education. This means attending school functions, asking your child about school each day, reading/looking at papers that are sent home each night, attending homevisits and participaing in the F.R.E.D. reading program.

Sharing: I expect each child to share classroom materials with their peers, while at school. If two, or more students, want the same object, I expect them to work through a compromise, so that everyone has a turn.

Clothing: I expect each child to come dressed for the weather each day, since we will be going outside if the weather is above 20 degrees out. Children should be wearing appropriate shoes for running and playing outside, as well. Please remember that this is preschool and we do lots of painting and hands-on messy activities.

Behavior: I expect each child to have difficult days. However, I do expect each child to express their anger, or frusteration, in appropriate ways. Approiate ways of expressing anger, or frusteration, are: the child says they are angery/frusterated, asks for time by themselves, politely says 'no' or walks away from the situation that is making them angry/upset.

Friends: I expect each child in the classroom to regard all the others as friends. We will help each other through happy and difficult days. We will treat everyone as if they are our friends.

Golden Rule: I expect all the kids to treat their peers as they want to be treated.
